A circular stamp on the left side of the page with the text: Library of the College of the Society of Jesus. In the center is the Jesuit "IHS" monogram with a cross above the H and three nails below.
An elaborate allegorical copperplate engraving featuring three bears in cave-like openings amidst a landscape of rose bushes.
- At the top, the sun shines. Motto to the left: "The day itself reveals it." Motto to the right: "Pleasant to see, rough to the touch."
- Top center bear: An upright bear sitting in an oval frame labeled "ROSA URSINA". It holds a pair of dividers (compass) and a straight-edge ruler over a table. Motto below it: "Guardian Rose".
- Bottom left bear: A bear curled up, licking its paws. Motto: "Constant industry shapes it."
- Bottom right bear: A bear asleep or resting. Motto: "I provide my own nourishment."
- At the very bottom of the engraving is the text: "URSINA ROSE".
A second circular stamp on the right side of the page, identical to the first, reading: Library of the College of the Society of Jesus with the IHS monogram.
