Foësius sec. v. 3. 446.
A decorative drop cap 'Σ' (Sigma) is set within a circular floral border.
He who wishes to inquire correctly about healing, to answer the one inquiring, and to contradict correctly, must observe these things. First, the sources from which all diseases arise in all human beings. Then, which diseases necessarily entail, when they occur, either long or short courses, or fatal or non-fatal outcomes. Whether they result in the mutilation of some part of the body, or not. And which, after they arise, are doubtful regarding whether evil or good outcomes will result from them. And from which diseases transitions occur to others. And what physicians achieve by lucky outcome while treating the sick. And what good or bad things the sick suffer during their diseases. And what is said or done inopportunely by the physician toward the sick, or by the sick toward the physician. And what is done and said accurately in the art. And what is correct in it, and what is not. And what constitutes its beginning, or end, or middle, or any other thing of this kind demonstrated, which is correctly held to be in it, or is not in it.
