If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

And so, because neither sharpness nor argument is lacking in our author, by which he is able not only to delight but also to educate the skillful investigator of nature, I judged it deserved that this magnetic philosophy of his should be rescued from moths and worms, given such a scarcity of copies, which I was able to observe not only here and elsewhere in Germany, but even in England itself when inquiring; just as it was reported to me more than once during my travels in England.
Therefore, wishing to consult well for the literary good, I am publishing this most useful part of philosophy, printed in a smaller and more suitable form, and I am making it more illustrious not only with my marginal notes, as they are called, but I am also rendering it more complete and distinct with a sufficient index of things and words, as well as with diagrams and other observations.
Use and enjoy these, Benevolent Reader, with the help of a good God: And if I have experienced your goodwill in these, I will soon see to it that you see more that is not unworthy of a generous mind. Farewell.
