The text of the title page is framed within an elaborate Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) border featuring stylized floral and leaf motifs. At the bottom center, just above the publishing location, is a printer's device consisting of the monogram "BGT" (B. G. Teubner) inside a shield-like frame. At the very bottom center of the border decoration is a small cartouche containing the initials "JVC".
