...to print, or to sell or have for sale, or offer, or dare to have the said works—as noted above—that have been printed or are to be printed by anyone other than the said Federico. We command all our venerable brothers, the Bishops, Archbishops, and their Vicars General in spiritual matters, as well as the Legates and Vice-Legates of the Apostolic See in the temporal state of the Holy Roman Church, or the Governors of said state, that as often as they are requested on behalf of the said Federico, or one of them is requested, they shall assist the same Federico with the shield of effective defense. We command them to execute the premises at every requisition of the said Federico against the disobedient and rebellious by ecclesiastical censures, even by aggravating them frequently, and by other legal remedies, with Apostolic authority, invoking also, if need be, the aid of the secular arm original: "brachij secularis". And furthermore, because it would be very difficult for these presents to be carried to every court, we will and decree by Apostolic authority that transcripts or copies of them, when printed in the said works, shall have the same full faith everywhere, as well in judgment as outside it, as the present original would have. And with absolution from censures for the effect of these presents. And that the signature alone shall suffice, all Apostolic constitutions and ordinances and others to the contrary notwithstanding.
