The author provides a list of variants where the scribe of φ has altered or corrupted the readings of F.
The scribe of φ has also frequently changed and corrupted the reading of F recklessly. Examples: 8. 2 repignato in F, repugnato in φ (cf. 175. 10); 20. 15 denerium in F, denarios in φ; 20. 22 paccilis in F¹, parcilis in F², partis in φ¹, parcilis in φ²; 21. 1 mali debent coherceri in F (the l in debent has a shape similar to the letter o), malos debeo cohercere in φ; 23. 10 accedis et salutas in F, accedas et saluta in φ; 27. 25 aspectu in F, affectu in φ; 29. 6 gratiam in F, grauam in φ; 30. 23 in aetate in F, iam aetate in φ; 31. 26 inquirenti in F, acquirenti in φ; 32. 18 iuxtim in F, iuxta in φ; 45. 5 iniecta soli in F, iniecta oi in φ; 53. 10 flagicorum in F, flagitiorum in φ; 70. 31 perfossus in F, percussus in φ; 72. 17 ouili in F, ciuili in φ (cf. 83. 8 ciuiliter in F¹, similiter in φ); 77. 9 iam certus in F (the ce was rewritten), uirtus in φ; 163. 2 nisus in F, innisus in φ; 165. 16 umbrosu in F, umbroso in φ; 171. 10 qd in F, qui in φ; 196. 6 perducit in F, producit in φ; 220. 25 deuersori in F¹, deuersoris in φ; 232. 10 cuiusmodi in F, eiusmodi in φ; 238. 13 inalbabant in F, inalbant in φ¹; 244. 8 effundit in F, effudit in φ; 247. 30 celo in F, celum in φ; 248. 7 addixisset in F, addidisset in φ; 258. 24 obuium in F, ouium in φ.
Sometimes φ omitted superfluous words when describing F. Examples: 232. 5, φ omitted the second tertius, which was repeated in F but later struck through; 249. 3, where scites before scitissimum was struck through in F, it was completely omitted in φ. Therefore, these items were struck through in F either by the hand of the scribe of φ himself, or by another before he copied F. Conversely, many things were struck through in F that φ neither omitted nor expunged. Examples: 10. 20 succussus sum in F¹φ (sum in F is struck through).
