B. Lecilius Fabianensis, Canon Regular, to the reader. Greetings.
Reader, accept the volumes of Avicenna, recently corrected,
which lay in age-old neglect.
The canonical fathers have restored them, so that such a great gem
might not remain buried in a putrid whirlpool.
It flies now through the ethereal breezes, unimpeded,
a work than which none is more beautiful in the whole world.
But first, let this discovery be read by the Father of the heavens,
then return it to the pious fathers who provided it.
