This library is built in the open.
If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

S = manuscript formerly in the Seguier collection, now Paris 10592 (= Suppl. Lat. 712), 6th–7th century; the beginning is missing; it starts on fol. 1 from the words in ch. 8: "never in times" (numquam temporibus).
W = theological manuscript Würzburg 145, 8th–9th century (others attribute it to the 7th century).
P = manuscript Paris 1647 A, 10th century.
M = manuscript Munich 208, 9th–10th century, which displays the beginning of the book with a double transcript; I have designated the first transcript M1 and the second M2.
B = manuscript Bamberg 476, 11th century.
V = manuscript Verona, 7th century (?); I have transcribed the lost portions of the book partly from the collation which is written in the copy of the Manutian edition extant in the library of the Göttingen Academy, and partly from the annotations of the editors.
v = some or all editions.
r = the first edition (editio princeps), Rome 1471.
Oxon. = Oxford edition from the Sheldonian Theatre, 1682.
I have included all variant readings from the SWPMB manuscripts in the apparatus; concerning V, I could not publish anything except what I found noted in my sources; furthermore, I used the MB manuscripts only for the review of chapters 1–7.
