A formal bookplate for the Harvard College Library. At the center is the Harvard University coat of arms: a shield containing three open books with the letters "VE", "RI", and "TAS" (Truth). The shield is surrounded by a circular border with the Latin inscription "Insignia of the Harvard Academy, Cambridge, New England". Below the main seal is a smaller crest featuring a lion and a crown. The entire emblem rests on a stone-like pedestal containing a dedication and the library name.
