A formal bookplate for the Harvard College Library. At the top is a large oval seal containing the Harvard coat of arms (three books spelling "VE RI TAS") surrounded by the Latin inscription "Insignia of the Harvard Academy, Cambridge, New England". Below the seal is a smaller crest featuring a griffin and three water-bougets. The bottom portion consists of a stone-like plinth with an inscription detailing the gift of the book.
