I certainly know that some doctors have claimed supreme knowledge of this treatment and demanded large fees when they knew only one or two remedies for ear diseases. We offer many, so that when the situation demands it, we may be able to use them when some of them occur.

A cyathus a small ladle, approx. 45 ml of excellent garum fermented fish sauce, a cyathus of vinegar, and one and a half cyathi of honey: it is boiled slowly in a new cup, the foam is removed from time to time with a feather, and when the foam has subsided, it is removed, and it is poured in warm.
