A printer's mark or decorative emblem is centered on the page. At the top is a bust of a figure, possibly representing a saint or personification of wisdom, with a radiant, spiked halo behind the head. Below the bust, a banner or scroll contains the French motto: "BE SILENT" on the left and "ACT" on the right. Beneath the motto is an ornate monogram featuring the intertwined letters "M" and "H" surrounded by decorative foliate scrolls.
