A black and white engraving depicting a tall stone gatehouse tower known as Bacon's Study at Oxford. The structure is built over a large round-arched gateway through which a street with distant buildings and two human figures are visible. The tower has three main levels above the arch: the first has a set of three mullioned windows, the second has two smaller windows, and the top level has a larger set of four mullioned windows. A chimney stack rises from the right side of the roofline. The stone work appears weathered and historical.
