The leather spine is heavily damaged by extensive bookworm infestations, resulting in numerous small holes across the entire surface. The leather is also aged, cracked, and worn.
A photograph shows the spine of an antique leather-bound book. The binding is tan or light brown leather with several raised bands. The most striking feature is the dense pitting from insect damage. Several library identification labels are affixed to the lower portion of the spine.
