...a bath; for the remedy of each individual is that the harmful substances attached to the body may be excreted through the surface of the skin; and generally, one must stir up every kind of excretion, so that the disposition does not acquire a stable structure. Furthermore, one should provide meat from chickens and lambs, sucking pigs and kids, and these should be the fattest, most tender, and boiled with flaxseed; for they soften the bowel and dull the sharp substances. Wine also should be drunk rather freely. But it is also beneficial to use the bark of frankincense and the earth which is called aster, if four drachmas of each are taken with sweet wine. Likewise, pennyroyal crushed with water, and iris or rose [oil/ointment] with a decoction of rue, and tender vine-shoots crushed with sweet wine; but most powerful of all are the antidotes, drunk with four drachmas of honeyed water.
Chapter II. [Concerning Pine Caterpillars.] For those who have swallowed pine caterpillars, pain immediately arises around the mouth and palate—
