$μ$ — very few scholia of the Venetian codex of St. Mark 302, paper, 15th century.
$ν$ — very few scholia of the Venetian codex of St. Mark 317, paper, 15th century. It contains Elem. I—V and part of book VI.
From these sources I have received all the scholia P F B b $β$ $β^2$ $β^3$ V^a V^b V^c V^1 V^2 V^3 V^4 V^5 Vat. f^a q q^a q^b q^c q^1 q^2 q^3 q^4 A m $μ ν$, with the exception of some trivial notes (places of the elements cited briefly by $δι\grave{α}$ $τ\grave{o}$ etc. have always been omitted); from the rest I have selected the better ones; among those received I have generally neglected more recent sources where older ones were available.
In appendices 1—4 I have referred to the very recent scholia on books XIV—XV, some extracted from more rarely inspected codices, Barlaam’s arithmetical commentary on book II, and certain mathematical anecdotes found in Euclidian codices; concerning the use, origin, and age of the scholia, and the parts already edited, I shall speak in another place, so that this volume, already sufficiently large, does not grow more than necessary.
This part of the preface being finished, I shall correct certain errors. For since, regarding my collation of codex V—which I completed first of all seven years ago—I had doubts about some places, in the year 1886 I examined that codex again, transmitted as I said to Copenhagen, here and there, and I found these things to be corrected:
I p. 62, 20 $\text{ἔσται}$ corrected by hand 1 to $\text{ἐστί}$.
I p. 76, 20 $\text{ταῖς}$ omitted.
I p. 96, 14 contains $\text{τρίγωνον}$.
I p. 162, 15 $\text{ἀναγραφησομένῳ}$, not $\text{ἀναγραφομένῳ}$.
I p. 170, 1 $Δ$A, not A$Δ$.
I p. 172, 13 $\text{αὐτήν}$ added later.
I p. 174, 19 $\text{τέμνει}$, not $\text{τεμεῖ}$.
