p. 150, 20 ἀνδροειδεῖς 28; ἐμμένειν] 27, 30, 32; ἰμμένειν 26, 28; p. 156, 2 ὅλον] om. 26, 32; p. 160, 9 ἤτοι οὐ παράλληλα written above 26, ἤτοι καὶ παράλληλα in margin 27, 30, 32; p. 166, 16 τοῦ ὄμματος ἐπιπέδων κειμένων] 26, 27, 28, 32; κειμένων ἐπιπέδων τοῦ ὄμματος 30; p. 166, 20 ἡ] ὁ 26, 27; p. 166, 23 γάρ] slightly darker 26; δέ 27, 32; p. 176, 16 has the interpolation of codex V in margin 26, 30, 32; p. 236, 12 τά] τό 26, 27, 32.
Regarding the fragment of the Catoptrica in codex 30, I have noted only this: at p. 286, 1, I read ὑποκείσθω ὄψιν from some interpolated codex.
Codex 12 was described from codex v (in the Optica), as is apparent from these passages: p. 150, 10 ἀκοὴν μὲν γάρ] ἀκοὴν | γάρ v, ἀκοὴν γάρ 12; p. 152, 20 περιφέρεια] εὐθεῖα γραμμή v, 12; p. 154, 10 β προσπίπτωσιν α αἱ ὄψεις v, προσπίπτωσιν αἱ ὄψεις 12; p. 226, 18 ἐπί] ἐ| v, ἐκ 12. And it was written at Rome in the presence of Georgius Selva, the bishop, then legate of Francis I to the Pope.
Codices 1 and 14 are argued to derive from v by the memorable passage at p. 314, 1. For the reason why they have AE there instead of the other A without any sense, is that in v the letter E of the previous figure on p. 311 is placed by chance such that it immediately follows the letter A at p. 314, 1, as if they were to be joined. See furthermore regarding the Optica p. 152, 5 αὐτῷ] twice in v and cod. 1; p. 154, 11 προσπίπτωσιν] προσπίσιν v, cod. 1; p. 158, 1 ΓΔ — 2 τό] in margin by 2nd hand in v, in margin by recent hand in cod. 1; p. 194, 19 παραλλήλου] —? v, cod. 1, 14; p. 216, 8 κέντρῳ] κ—ω v, ιέω 1 (corr. by 2nd hand), ε after erasure in 14; p. 242, 18 φαίνεται ἔγγιον] om. v, codd. 1, 14. And neither can have been described from the other; see p. 162, 16 ἴσα] v, cod. 1, om. 14; p. 174, 27 ἔστω — ἐστί] v, cod. 14, in margin by recent hand in cod. 1; p. 190, 12 διά — 14 ὁραθήσεται] cod. 14, om. v, cod. 1; p. 216, 5 περιφερείας] v, cod. 14, περιφερείας κέντρον ἔχοντος τὸ ὄμμα cod. 1. Since, however, at p. 288, 8 τρίγωνα (so v) is missing in codd. 1, 14, one must establish a common archetype between v and codd. 1, 14. But each has been interpolated and corrected, see p. 152, 20 περιφέρεια] cod. 1, εὐθεῖα γραμμή v, γραμμή 14; p. 244, 8 ἐπὶ δὲ ταύτης] cod. 1, ἐπεὶ δὴ αὑ v, ἐπὶ δὲ αὐτῆς 14; p. 216, 21 codex 14 also has the interpolation of codex p; the errors of codex v we often do not find in cod. 1, such as p. 164, 8; 170, 7, 13, 18; 172, 17; 174, 4, 7, 11.
That AE at p. 314, 1 is also held by codd. 3, 4, 7, 8 (E deleted), 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, which are argued by that fact to depend on v; at what degree, let us now see.
That codd. 3, 7 were described from cod. 1, these places show most of all:
