Codex 2 was described from codex 13; for while it generally agrees with its archetype, such as p. 152, 20 γραμμή, it departs from it where cod. 13 has been corrected; see p. 216, 4 κέντρον ἔχοντος τὸ ὄμμα 2, om. 14, in margin 13; p. 242, 18 cod. 14 has the interpolation of codex p in the margin by a recent hand, by 2nd hand in cod. 13, and in the text of 2 with the same errors (ἑαυτῆς οἰόμενα τῷ ὄμματι); see furthermore p. 190, 15 προσήχθω] προήχθω 13, 2; p. 288, 3 ἤχθωσαν] ἤχθοσαν 13, 2; p. 314, 1 A] from correction 13, A 2.

Codex 29 was described from codex 20, as it seems, with lighter mistakes corrected; see p. 144, 2 διότι] 14, ὅτι 20, 29; p. 144, 14 τοῖς] τοῖς φωτοῖς 20, 29; p. 144, 19 τῶν σωμάτων αἱ] 14, αἱ τῶν σωμάτων 20, 29; p. 150, 10 εὔθετα] 14, εὐθεῖα 20, εὐθεῖαν 29; p. 150, 18 ὄσφρησιν] 29, ὄσφρισιν 14, 20; p. 152, 10 γεγραμμένης] 14, γὰρ εμμενης 20, γὰρ ἐμμενούσης 29; p. 152, 23 ἡ περί] 29, ἣν περί 14, 20; also p. 152, 21 κειμένην] κειμέν’ 14, μέν’) 20, I have no doubt that cod. 29 has μένειν; for after διά it inserted τό on its own.

Codex 19 was described from codex 9; for at p. 148, 16 in θεαμάτων the letter ε in cod. 9 is formed in such a way that it becomes similar to the letter ρ; whence θραμάτων in cod. 19; see furthermore p. 144, 17 αὔξειν] ξειν after lacuna 9, after erasure 19; p. 148, 24 εἰδώλων] 9, εἴδωλον 19; p. 150, 2 βελόνῃ] 9, βελώνην 19; p. 150, 4 καί] om. 9, 19; p. 152, 15 τοῦ τε] τοῦτο 9, 19; p. 286, 21 κοίλων] κύλων 9, 19; p. 288, 21 παρατεθέντος] παρατιθέντος 9, 19. Codex 19, fol. 195, has these: "The titles of these books of Euclid are at the bishop Cornarius's, and also in the library of Saint John and Paul in Venice," fol. 381 "The titles of the following books are in the old book ... in our library, which is at my brother D. Laurentius's." From there without a doubt was described cod. 15, just as almost all Philippsiani codices have originated in Venice. For it has at p. 144, 17 αὔ- in a lacuna by a recent hand, at p. 148, 16 θραμάτων. *) Those which were appended in the margin by a recent hand were taken from the edition of Pena, such as after prop. 24: “θεώρημα κε'. σφαῖρα ἐκ διαστήματος ὁρωμένη κύκλος φαίνεται. ἔστω γὰρ ἐν σφαίρᾳ add the rest from the printed codex. You have it at the end of page 16”. It is p. 619, 8 of the Gregory edition = p. 16 extreme of the Pena edition. From the form of the notation it appears that the codex was prepared for the typesetter; see at prop. 2: “ὅτι δὲ διερχόμενον, in margin note σχόλιον, which for this theorem 2m is held in the printed codex by no means to be omitted. Therefore, in place of the asterisk, let the earlier commentary follow”; it is p. 603, 3 of the Gregory edition == p. 6 extreme of the Pena edition. At prop. 7: “Lord Dasypodius added another demonstration of this, which, like the earlier scholia, should be added”. Perhaps cod. 25 depends on him; for at the end it has, just as cod. 15: τὰ πρὸ τῶν Εὐκλείδου ὀπτικῶν (τὰ πρὸ τῶν Εὐκλείδου ὀπτικῶν τέλος in cod. 9); Io. Pastricius wrote: "Here is an error, for the end of the prolegomena is where the suppositions begin."
