who is in charge of the academic library at Copenhagen Hafniensi: relating to Copenhagen, Denmark, I obtained a transcript apographum: a manual copy or transcript of an original manuscript of the book from a manuscript codex: an ancient manuscript book which is preserved in that library, made with the greatest accuracy. I gladly use this opportunity to publicly give my greatest thanks again to this most learned and kindest man for this remarkable mark of favor toward me, the memory of which will never fade from my mind. All who care for such matters will grieve with me that this manuscript is incomplete at the end. It is cataloged in the records of that library as Number 14 in Folio, from a collection of various donations.
Given at Leipzig Lipsiae: a major center for printing and scholarship in Germany on the very first day of December original: "Calend. Decembr.", referring to the Kalends, the first day of the month in the Roman calendar, in the year of our restored salvation 1824 original: "A. R. S. CIƆIƆCCCXXIV". This is an older typographic form of the Roman numerals for 1824..
