...all editors have separated from the Moral books; prefixed to this will be an Introduction which Justus Lipsius wrote for this book under the title: Physiology of the Stoics.
Volume VI, however, will collect the Fragments, both those known for a long time and those recently discovered and edited in Rome by B. C. Niebuhr, son of C.; the Epigrams on Exile; new readings, if any happen to occur from the new manuscripts described above; the judgments of more recent authors concerning Seneca; the literary notice; and finally, ample indices.
We hope, God willing, that these six volumes will be completed very shortly; for we did not wish to commit our Seneca to the press before everything was provided at hand that seemed necessary for completing this edition quickly and diligently.
Let us now hear the great Lipsius discoursing earnestly and copiously on the life and writings of L. A. Seneca, and leading us by a sure path to the temple of Stoic Philosophy.
