The Works of Theophrastus, collected with the greatest care partly from here and there, and reduced into one body, as it were: partly purged of many errors, in which they had hitherto abounded, by the industry of learned men and with the help of better copies. (In Greek) by Jo. Oporinus. Basel, 1541.
Oporinus compared the text of the first Aldine edition with the translation of Gaza, and added to the margin the corrections drawn from it and some of his own conjectures. He received few [changes] into the text, and those only the most obvious ones.
Volume VI containing Theophrastus's History of Plants, and On the Causes of Plants, and certain other of his books (after the works of Aristotle. In Greek). At the end: Venice, at the house of the heirs of Aldus. At the expense of the nobleman Lord Federico de Turrisanis, their uncle. 1552. 8vo. A reprint of the first Aldine text; with some obvious corrections, albeit very sparingly inserted .
The complete Works of Theophrastus of Eresus in Greek and Latin. Daniel Heinsius corrected the Greek text in infinite places partly by his own ingenuity and partly from books: he supplied the gaps, and reviewed what was poorly conceived: he [inserted] the interpretation here and there—
a Theophrastus, On the History of Plants. On the Causes of Plants, etc. Gr. fol. Venice, Aldus. 1503. Quesnel lists it. Catal. Bibl. Thuan. P. II. p. 200. About which I have doubts. Perhaps it originated from the first Aldine, by an easy error. See above.
