4. From the stars, however, it betakes itself into the air: from the air into the water: from the water it creeps into the earth, and from the earth it ascends again toward heaven.
5. From this it is very rightly concluded that heaven is the source and gathering place of this fountain, while air and water are as channels through which it is guided toward the earth, as to its mother, and from there again to heaven, as to its father.
6. Even though this fountain descends down into the center point of the earth, it nevertheless comes forth again, as if steaming upward, and moistens the entire surface of the earth.
7. Were it not for this fountain, all of creation would lie down as if dead and unfruitful: for all stars, animals, plants, minerals, and metals are nourished and preserved by it.
8. This fountain has no less power and dignity when it rests in the center point of the earth than when it sits in the heart of heaven, indeed ruling and governing over all heavens.
