A means to have this Salamander promptly and in abundance for the medicine of the human body

Take this Salamander and put it in a matrass to circulate with tartarized spirit of wine High-proof alcohol treated with tartar., or even better, concentrated on zinc lime, as we have taught should be done with a good proper spirit. Four ounces of this spirit of wine are needed for one ounce of Salamander. The whole being circulated and united, one has a perfect essence of zinc, which is its true narcotic sulfur, which is the sedative for all the strongest pains. The dose is from one to three drops in a suitable vehicle.

One can, on this model, extract from all metals, minerals, and salts the narcotic sulfur, whose virtues are so prodigious, but one must first reduce these bodies into true salt and volatilize it to then treat it as we have said above.

Here is the way to use this Salamander for the metallic work

One takes ten parts of this Salamander and one part of very pure mineral gold; and in its default, one uses gold prepared by antimony or another physical way, but provided that
