But as for what the Flood represents outside of you in nature and art, note the following: The Flood was nothing but a separation of the much evil from the little good, through a $\triangle$ (fire) with the preservation of the good power which multiplies infinitely. For when men, with their sins, stirred the grim wrath of God, and the wrathful $\triangle$ wanted to ignite according to all properties (as it shall happen on the final Day of Judgment), the whole world would have been destroyed before its time. But because the counsel of God had to stand—that all His hidden wonders, concluded in His counsel, should open themselves in this principle according to His order of nature—it was not His will that the world should perish in the $\triangle$ (which leaves nothing behind but the materia prima and ultima). Therefore, God moved the malice of men, contrary to the Urs Matrix (primal womb), thus changing the $\triangle$ into an $\nabla$ (inverted triangle). And this, as the Scripture says, after 7 days or properties, in the 600th year of Noah's age, on the 17th day of the second month, all the fountains of the great deep broke open, the windows of heaven opened, and a rain came upon the $\nabla$ for 40 days and 40 nights, on the very same day that Noah went into the ark.
