A hand-colored engraved map of the Kingdom of Bohemia (Regnum Bohemiae). The geography is rendered with pictorial elements: forests are shown as clusters of green trees, mountain ranges as brown shaded peaks, and rivers as blue lines. Towns and cities are indicated by small red architectural icons with accompanying labels. A large decorative cartouche in the bottom-left corner contains the title, topped by the Bohemian coat of arms (a white lion rampant on a red shield). In the bottom-right corner, another ornate cartouche contains a Latin address to the reader and a distance scale. The map's border includes degrees of longitude and latitude. The surrounding regions of Misnia, Silesia, Moravia, Austria, and the Palatinate are labeled at the margins.
To the Reader,
May you view this map of these and neighboring regions with a pure heart and spirit, now that the darkness of things has finally been divinely dispelled, rendering the northern territories more illustrious than ever before. Farewell, and recognize that nothing will come of prosperity where the healthy teachings of that Word likely referring to the Gospel or divine wisdom are absent; for those teachings produce spirits with successful outcomes in both themselves and their descendants, and they are accepted by those with upright and prudent minds. May the witness of the people overcome the testimony of his own perceived merit.
