27. Therefore, it will be moved by some action.
28. That is either internal or external.
29. We call the internal action the nature of the healable thing.
30. The external is designated by the name of art.
31. The minister and governor of this is the artist.
32. For art, since it is an immovable principle, does not act without him.
33. But neither does the physician complete the action finally.
34. For he does not possess the form within the mobile object to suffer the change.
35. He uses, therefore, the support of art, or an instrument.
36. Moreover, that which is healed is one thing, and that by which it is healed is another.
37. Just as there is a patient, and an instrumental agent.
38. If the instrument is the final one, it touches the patient immediately.
39. Since that is the medicine to be applied immediately to the patient, it is strange in hopliatria the healing of wounds by weapon-salve that one departs from this reason.
40. For it is not the wounded part, but the weapon by which the wound was made, that is touched by a particular medicine, yet the wound is healed.
41. Which some wish to be done by magical force, others by natural force.
