5. Objection concerning these same terms.

Ph. But they say that in certain academies, the teachers are not understood if we use different names.
Or. This happens because of the stubbornness of some. But how worthy are they as doctors if they do not understand Cicero, Quintilian, the Stoics, etc., when they are well distinguished? How skillfully do they teach if they inform their students only according to the custom of one region? Are they ignorant of the fact that their students must be sent to any nation? Therefore, he who has been raised in the Tübingen Academy a German university will be educated in vain when he comes to the Turin Academy an Italian university, and he will be forced to return to the dungeons. There is no one among these doctors who does not want to appear to be teaching his own things, not those of others. If they can endure this variety and do not fear the destruction of the arts from it, why are they troubled by a few words? 6. Objection concerning novelties; those who discourage emended logic seek a defense for their own laziness and ignorance.
