mom-seeds, Halcyonium, Emeralds, Hyacinth, and similar materials brought in: but have climbed the mountains, and sought for long, unshapen, unlovely herbs for recipes: have taken a coal-tongs into the fist instead of a quill, and diligently burned [them], until they have found the true Mumiam Balsamitam Balsamic Mummy (a medicinal essence) for all diseases.

Truly, such has cost them much effort and labor: they did not dare to sit on soft cushions: it is therefore no wonder that the Magi and Philosophers have followed their father Paracelsus in writing, and have presented the Magisteria alchemical remedies & arcana secrets magically and allegorically, with many kinds of forms to their successors, so that those who are diligent, and who like to deal with the coals and Alembicen alchemical stills, might attain this treasure.
