In the upper left, a radiant sun shines with intense rays over a jagged mountain range. Below the mountains, several small towns with churches, houses, and watermills are visible along a river. In the center, a boat with a lone figure sits on the water. To the right, a massive, upright monolithic rock or "pyramid" dominates the foreground, inscribed with dense columns of text in Latin and German. At the base of this rock, a group of four men dressed in scholarly robes and hats stand in discussion, gesturing toward the inscriptions. The engraving is rich with cross-hatching and fine detail, typical of alchemical allegories.
