I have not brought into the light everything I have composed, lest you be burdened with a pack; in part, I have also entrusted some things to others in such a way that I have completely lost possession of them. And so, even though I sought some things for the sake of friends, because they appeared nowhere, I was forced to omit them. In those that are published, I have diligently taken care not to be troublesome to any good person. But if, contrary to expectation, someone has been offended, let those things said be unsaid.
