Father from Heaven called, Matthew 3: "Hear Him, hear Him, I say." That such has not yet occurred until now is truly our own fault, that we do not prepare ourselves worthily and fittingly for it, and have until now chased and strived more for the temporal with the world, and have not taken note of the rule of CHRIST, Matthew 6: "Seek first the kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you," etc. Yes, we have also forgotten the first three Cabalistic principles: Ask, Seek, Knock. If we had done this with diligence, and led a Christian, godly, and God-pleasing walk, and furthermore better researched and investigated nature, we would without doubt have obtained something from the gold-rich fountain of grace of rich Nature. As much information as I can have from the writings of all philosophers, who have written until now about the Universal Medicine and the blessed Tincture-treasure, among heathens and Christians, and have possessed the Stone of the Wise as the highest secret treasure of nature: I find so much, that they were for the most part all true Naturalists, deep-thinking Philosophers, Magi, and Cabalists. For the right, true Magic is such an art and skill, through which one attains to the knowledge of the elements, their composed bodies, fruits, properties, powers, and hidden workings.
