Lord and Patron, in the present treatise original: Tractat, described in greater detail, and the slanderers of this nation will have their calumnies Calumnien; false and malicious accusations intended to damage someone's reputation sufficiently silenced, the content of which has been briefly extracted here.
Since, however, Noble, Estimable, and Honorable Lord, this little treatise should rightly also be shared with this nation in its mother tongue—as it was certainly written for its praise and glory—I have, at the publisher's original: Verlåger request, translated the same into our German language. Through this translation original: transferierung, I intended to serve everyone, trusting that the favorable reader, who is unlearned in the Latin language, will be pleased with this my well-intended effort.
Because it is also a common custom to dedicate original: dediciren newly published treatises to prominent persons, so that under their protection such works may be shielded against the slanders and calumnies of detractors, I have accordingly wished to humbly ascribe and dedicate this my version original: Version to Your Honorable, Estimable, and Most Excellent Self: especially since not only the aforementioned Honorable Mr. Author original: Author; referring to Michael Maier...
