Once the water is clarified, it will follow that the prima materia first matter has alternated and become the ultima materia final matter, and the ultima materia back into the prima materia. The reason the great world the universe is perishable is this: the Spirit of God does not keep his seat and dwelling in the great world, but in the small world man. For man is a temple of the Holy Spirit, insofar as he does not willfully defile himself toward hellish fire, by which a distinction was made. He remains in the small world, which He formed in His own image and made a consecrated temple. Otherwise, everything in the small world is also what is found in the great world: namely, heaven and earth, together with the elements and whatever is attached to it and added from the firmament.

One also finds that in the first creation, which was accomplished out of nothing, three things originated as a soulful, spiritual, and visible essence: they appear as a mercurial water, a sulphurous vapor of sulfur,
