...we seriously command that no one shall presume, for the space of ten years computed from the first day of each edition, within the borders of the Holy Roman Empire and our hereditary Kingdoms and Dominions, to reprint the aforesaid BASILICA CHYMICA of Oswald Croll, whether written in the Latin idiom or translated into German, by similar or any other type or form, whether in whole or in part, or to give it to be reprinted elsewhere, or to bring, sell, or distribute it even if printed elsewhere, secretly or openly, without the will and consent of the aforementioned Godefridus Tampach and his heirs.
If anyone truly does otherwise, and dares to spurn, neglect, or transgress this Our Imperial Privilege, we decree that he be not only stripped of such books falsely reprinted and brought in (which indeed Tampach and his heirs and agents, wherever they are found, may claim for themselves either by their own authority or with the aid of the local Magistrate), but also that he be fined ten marks of pure gold, to be paid equally to Our Imperial Treasury, the vindicator of fraud, and to the uses of the oft-mentioned Tampach or his heirs, with all hope of mercy removed. Provided, however, that said BASILICA contains nothing in itself scandalous, adverse to the Orthodox Catholic Religion, and the Constitutions of the Holy Roman Empire, or contrary to good morals, whether in the preface, or in the context, or otherwise; and provided also that said Tampach sends at least three copies at his own expense as soon as possible to our Imperial Chancery. We therefore command all and singular our subjects and faithful beloved of the Holy Empire and our hereditary Kingdoms and Dominions, of whatever status, degree, order, condition, dignity, or preeminence they may be, both Ecclesiastical and secular, especially indeed those who are established in the Magistracy, or who exercise the administration of law and justice in their own or their superiors' name and place, that they do not suffer anyone to transgress, violate, or spurn this Our Imperial Privilege rashly and with impunity, but rather take care that the contumacious, if they find any, are punished with the prescribed penalty and coerced by other suitable means, so far as they do not wish to avoid the same fine...
