How ores are extracted by means of cheese-water original: "Käßwasser" has already been explained above. I must add here, however, that it is much better to use a Spiritum Salis rectificatum rectified spirit of salt sharpened with an Aqua forti strong water/nitric acid for the initial extraction of gold, rather than a ▽ water/solvent. One will find more ☉ gold in the reduction than if the extraction were done with a common ▽. The reason is too elaborate to relate here; it is enough to say what is good. A Spiritus Salis also costs less than a ▽ if one prepares it oneself according to my description. No one should be led astray by the slanderer from Fahrner referring to Christopher Fahrner, a contemporary critic of Glauber, who claims that such a Spiritus made per Vitriolum via vitriol, which I treated in the Prima parte Furnorum First Part of the Furnaces, is of no value, or that it cannot be prepared in Copiâ abundance in such a way. If it does not work well, it is not my description that is at fault, but rather the clumsy Laboranten laboratory worker/operator. Yes, clumsy, I say, is the one to whom one cooks the porridge with diligence and puts it into his mouth, yet he cannot chew or swallow it. If such people cannot succeed with a process that is described word for word without any withholding, how could they have invented anything themselves through reflection, much searching, and testing, as I have done? I testify
