and draw therefrom the greatest utility. This would be very pleasing and desired by me. Therefore, in the name of the Lord, I shall begin to reveal those divine gifts and talents—granted by heaven—which everywhere escape the knowledge of men and therefore lack incomparable use and utility. I shall place them before the eyes of the whole world, so that, extracted from more than Cimmerian darkness, they may henceforth become known through more useful knowledge and be able to be of greater benefit to the Fatherland. May the most opulent and ancient Steward, our most benevolent Father, favoring this endeavor with His most liberal blessing, cause it to redound to the honor of His most holy Name and the salvation of our souls.
