This library is built in the open.
If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

For here indeed, you will find what is read dispersed in a thousand places,
And a small treasure for yourself in a short time.
Look brother, that is called having acquired the crown,
That is called having lived, never having died here,
That is called having cherished the little pound from the Highest;
Placed upon heaven-pleasing interest.
Your virtue-mind, the spirits of the senses,
Your clever understanding seeks a new beginning,
It seeks and brings something new to the light;
That which pleases many, and which many lack,
You seek to adorn youth and virtue,
To lead the pen-relatives to knowledge,
May heaven with grace be mindful of you further,
May it enrich you plentifully with life and blessing.
So that you may shine here temporally with virtue:
And receive there the reward of eternal joys.
What is the unbroken study, what the diligent care and labor,
And the nights without the gift of sleep so often devoted?
They have profited the world, these monuments of your genius,
O Moller, at last entrusted to the light, speak.
With you as leader, they might indeed write a polished
Epistle with learned speech: equally Youths and Old men,
With you as leader, anyone can explain with magnificent words
The senses of the mind, and adorn them with various figures.
