This salvation, the Father of the High Ones Himself, with happy sowing,
Brought forth, sent from the lofty ether into our own.
And although from the humble bosom of the daughter of the earth referring to the Virgin Mary
It rises, reborn from the ancient root of Jesse:
Yet, as a partner of the Virgin race, it preserves
The nativity of the stock inviolate, and nothing of earthly
Dregs adheres to it. Growing thus with a double stem,
The Royal offspring rises into one strength.
Observe how widely it unfolds its sylvan wings!
How much of the world it occupies with the spacious shadows
Of its leafy robe! For it does not scatter its foliage
Only through the nearest fields: Emerging from its native green,
The open shadow runs through the whole world,
And stretching its arms through either couch of the sun,
It closes the whole side of the world with a common covering.
Here is opened a branching house, which joins nations
In pleasant hospitality, which associates in a gathered assembly
The Hebrew sheep of Zion and the shepherds of the country.
Although the circumcised offspring of the Jewish nation
Dared to rage against the green trunk with an inserted
Axe: Yet from the earth it rose into the breezes
More joyfully, and lifted its high head to the stars above.
But why should I mention the fruits, which the tree
Offers to anyone to be plucked from its luxuriant, hanging branches?
