centia, we may apprehend while walking. We shall be accompanied by Feudists and Jurisconsults of no low grade, from whose established sayings and commonly received opinions we shall not easily depart; partly because this law of ours consists and depends more than others upon the opinions of Doctors testifying regarding observance and custom; and partly because, even if sometimes something might be defended more freely by a strict manner of disputing once the law itself is examined, nevertheless, in advising or judging, one must by no means rashly depart from the common opinion. Turn your minds, therefore, show yourselves teachable, and seize the doctrine which, recollected for you at your wish and request, is offered to be noted with the pen, so that it may be treated more fully by word of mouth, cultivated by reading, and perfectly possessed through meditation.
