A rectangular decorative headpiece composed of five horizontal rows of repeating typographical ornaments, including stylized flowers, scrolls, and dotted circular patterns.
I, Master original: "Mag." (Magister). A title indicating the author held a Master of Arts degree, common for high-ranking clergy and scholars. Heinrich Eschenreuter, lay here in the Monastery of St. Marienzell, in the land of Thuringia, these five little books into the masonry original: "Mauer-Werck." This refers to a hidden cavity within the stone walls of the monastery., where the Holy Father original: "H. Vater." This likely refers to a fresco or statue of God the Father or perhaps a founding saint of the monastery. is depicted near my cell. I secure them once again, just as I found them in the Monastery of Schwartzbach on May 6, in the year original: "Ao." (Anno). 1403. The fifth book was sent to me by an Augustinian brother, Franz Lothrach, from the Monastery of Frauenthal, located in Lower Franconia, which I have included with the others. These I now place back into hiding in the year of Christ 1489, on the 10th of October, and I ask him who finds them after my departure to secure them again as I have done, Amen.
