recovered much that had been passed over before. Hence, this little book has grown under our hands beyond expectation, such that it has become half again as thick. Therefore, we have not hesitated to place the name of a library on the title page, because the books cited can already constitute a respectable library. Furthermore, we have endeavored, as much as was possible and permitted by the time allotted for this, to improve the errors that had gradually crept into previous editions, and to cite the titles of the books in the language in which they were written, or at least to indicate as much.
