There are also many other miraculous springs in many of our churches and monasteries, such as at Locati, Casalmaggiore, Todi, and in the Narbonnese in France in the place that is called the Holy Mountain, in Rome in our church of Saint Mary in Via, in Vicenza on Mount Berico, in Asti in the Chapel of Saint Secundus the Martyr, in which place this holy martyr was held captive, in Milan in our church of Labellensis, and in many other places of our Order. When faithful Christians drink from the water of these springs, they recover from various infirmities through the merits of the Blessed Virgin Mary. See the treatise on these convents.

The love of God is the root and principle of every good, of peace and consolation, the virtue of virtues, the life of the soul, the sweetness of the mind, the union with the divine will, the betrothal of the faithful soul with Christ. But the contrary of this treasure is the love of ourselves, and he who desires to obtain the former must abandon the latter, as the following inflamed servants of God have done.
