§. 4.

1. Certainly the Lord God grants a great favor to His servants by sending them Angels, who are so noble above other creatures, and most ready to serve, protect, aid, and honor them, as will appear from the following examples.

2. While our Holy Father Philippus Benitius Philip Benizi was celebrating his first Mass in the sacred hermitage of Mount Senario, at the elevation of the Sacred Host, the sweetest trisagion three-fold praise "Holy, Holy, Holy" was heard being sung by a choir of Angels. Cent. 1. l. 3. c. 4.

3. Through the intercession and prayers of this same Holy Father, Angels brought bread divinely to our Fathers in Arezzo who were pressed by hunger. Cent. 1. l. 3. c. 14.

4. To the same Holy Father Philip and his companions who were wandering in the forest, Angels provided for their sustenance, and they came to their aid when they were just about to give up due to the lack of victuals. Cent. 1. l. 4. c. 1.

5. As the Blessed Father Philip was dying, Angels sang the antiphon: "Well done, good servant, etc." and conducted his soul into heaven.

6. Holy Father Philip was also girded by angels with a white stole, in a sign of victory won against the spirit of fornication, and likewise in a sign of Virginity. Paulus Atavantius.
