believing that this work came from Philalethes a legendary alchemical pseudonym, since the edition of 1608 was produced four years before the birth of Philalethes. It is in the Catalogue of Abbé Houel, page 12.

Petri GERIKE Medici, Professoris in Academia Julia, fundamenta Chimiæ rationalis Physician Peter Gerike, Professor at the Julian Academy, Foundations of Rational Chemistry, in-8°. Berlin. 1740. Although this introduction to chemistry contains only 392 pages, it contains enough detail for beginners. At the beginning of the work, one finds some fairly good, though very brief, remarks on the history of chemistry.
Joan. Rudolphi GLAUBERI, Colloquia Hermetica Hermetic Conversations, in-8°. Amsterdam, 1663. This treatise by Glauber is not common, nor is the complete collection of his works, in which there are, however, very curious things.
