Which were written and printed by the Church Fathers, theologians of the
three main Christian religions and the sectarians therein;
As well as
by those learned in law, medicine, physics, philology, philo-
sophy, history, geography, criticism, chemistry, music, arithmetic, mathe-
matics, surgery, and classical authors, etc. etc., from before the beginning of the XVI century until 1739
inclusive, and thus in more than two hundred years, in the European part of the world,
but especially in Germany.
For every book, one may find the various editions,
the year, the format, the place, the publisher, the
number of quires, and the price.
Initially collected by the author only for private notes,
But now, at the persistent request of many, prepared for the press,
and
divided into four parts.
A decorative printer's mark consists of a capital letter 'T' with a serpent entwined around the vertical stroke, forming the shape of an 'S'.
