  The author examines: an aves ex aqua? an ex sedimento aquæ? an ex IV. elementis? an ex terra? an ex aëre? an aliunde, aut ex nihilo? omni rejecta materia, procreatae sint? whether birds were created from water, from the sediment of water, from the four elements, from the earth, from the air, or from elsewhere, or from nothing, with all matter rejected? And he shows that birds were created by God ex nihilo out of nothing. Moses does not indicate any materiam ex qua matter from which, but only says: quod locum aërium occupaverint that they occupied the airy place.
