True Report on the Philosophical Athanor and its Use and Benefit

The Athanor of Henricus Khunrath

An engraving of an alchemical furnace, or athanor a self-feeding furnace used by alchemists to maintain a uniform, gentle heat, is depicted within a rectangular border. The furnace is a multi-tiered cylindrical structure. Its base is a thick, circular platform with a series of round ventilation holes.
