Murr, Christoph Gottlieb von · 1803

Ludw. Konr. Montans or von Bergen, who is said to have been among the first Rosicrucians Rose-Cross members, that the founding of Rosicrucianism in Germany falls as early as the year 1592; however, this date cannot be assumed with certainty: unless he wrote his thorough instruction on the true hermetic science in the year 1622 (see the year below), and not 1635. If this latter number is valid, then the origin would be placed in the year 1605, because he wrote (in 1635) that the Rosicrucians had led him astray with false processes for thirty whole years. In the year 1599, Nicolai Bernaudi published triga chymica de lapide philosopico Chemical Triad on the Philosopher's Stone and Quadriga aurifera Golden Quadriga, Leiden, 8vo. In the third part of the Theatrum chemicum Chemical Theater, p. 835, there is also a Latin letter by him, which Semler (Coll. II. Part p. 38 et seq.) provides in German, and concludes that several more secret societies, the German Rosicrucians, as a new society or German lodges, must have emerged; and the (fabulous) Societas Society of Isaac Hollandus would therefore be the mother of the assembling Rosicrucians in Germany.
