Murr, Christoph Gottlieb von · 1803

The interpolated work of the twelve keys, or of the great stone of the ancient sages, came out first in 1612, and in 1618 was translated into Latin in Maier's Tripode aureo Golden Tripod, Frankfurt 1618, 8vo. One sees from the other, earlier preface of the year 1597 the echo of the Fraternität Fraternity of the praiseworthy Order of the R. C. Rose Cross highly enlightened by God, Danzig 1620, 8vo (see the year 1616 below), that at that time there was talk of an association of several people. Semler has excerpted it in the first part of his collections for the Hist. History of the Rosicrucians p. 83 et seq., to which I refer the reader. From this epoche epoch deep into the 17th century, Theosophen theosophers They postulated emanationem et illuminationem passivam passive emanation and illumination., Alchemisten alchemists, etc., swarmed about and called themselves Rosicrucians, just as in the times of Luther the so-called traveling students (Scholastici vagantes) practiced their trade in Germany as sorcerers, treasure hunters, ghost conjurers, and fortune-tellers, only with the difference that the Rosicrucian fanatics caused far more damage.
