On November 28, 1759, he was accepted as an academic citizen under Rector Hieronymus Calemberg. He remained there for over two years and practiced under the most excellent and famous teachers, especially Franz Alef, in spiritual and secular Rechtsgelehrsamkeit jurisprudence/legal scholarship, in which he distinguished himself so remarkably that on November 28, 1761, he defended a legal Dissertation scholarly thesis (6) he had worked out himself in the presence of many listeners, including those from the noble estate, and all those present, with loud and general applause, to his immortal glory. Now he was perfectly prepared for the expansion and acquisition of more knowledge, which one must acquire particularly through travel and association with scholars, but especially with statesmen, and for a greater education.
